Christmas Outreach

In December, MICF presents a bilingual Family Christmas program for the community. For the past twenty years this Christmas program has been held at the Kiyotake Culture Center. The program includes an international carry-in meal, Christmas music, the story of Christmas, and a chance to get to know new international friends.

For many years, MICF members and the Family Christmas guests have contributed to a designated Christmas gift project in various parts of the world:

2007/08 – gift bags sent to children in Southeast Asia gift bags
2009 – gift bags sent to children in the Philippines
2010 – gift bags sent to children in Southeast Asia
2011 – gift bags sent to tsunami survivors in Japan
2012/13 – funds sent for school children at Koinonia Education Centre in Nairobi, Kenya
2014 – funds sent to ELWA Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia for Ebola treatment
2015/16 – funds sent to Open Doors for food boxes for Christian refugee families in Syria and Iraq

Several years MICF members have also presented a Nativity Drama as part of the annual Christmas Market sponsored by the Miyazaki City International Association.CM-actors
